This activity enhances communication skills, reviews question words, and engages English Language Learners.
Directions:
1 .Print out the worksheets
2. Separate students into groups of two. Each student in a pair should have a different worksheet.
3. Students take turns asking questions.
4. One student will take a look at their paper and choose a word. Then, they will ask their partner questions that will help them guess the word. For example, if the word is "pizza”, the student could ask "What is a food that is a triangle?"
5. If the guessing student needs extra help, they can ask questions back. For example, this student (for "pizza") can ask “When do you eat this food?"
6. If the guessing student guesses the word correctly, the asking student will put a checkmark next to the word. If the student answers incorrectly or takes too long, they put an X next to the word.
7. Once a student guesses the word, it is the other student's turn to choose a word from their paper and begin the process again.
8. Once all words have been used, students can compare their ability to guess by comparing checkmarks and X's.
